Nicole's Adventure!: Miami Beach

I'm no longer an expatriate. I started my 3rd year of medical school in Miami and have finished my first set of medical boards, which I passed! I've been to the little island of Dominica and Miami. I completed my Family Medicine, OB/GYN and Internal Medicine clerkships while living in the beautiful city of Miami Beach, FL. I moved to New York City in the beginning of August 2011, passed my second set of boards and finished rotations in Astoria, Queens in December 2011. I have not been posting as much as I have been extremely busy. It is hard to believe that I finished medical school, landed a pediatrics residency and that I'm finally Nicole, M.D.

Miami Beach

I've moved into my little apartment half a block from the boardwalk and the sands of Miami Beach. It is a cute little place in an old Art Deco building. It is great because I am just blocks from the action: I can go visit the action if I want but I can still sleep at night because I am a few blocks from the most exciting part of Miami Beach. Unfortunately, it has been cold in Miami--highs in the 50s and 60s as well as lows in the mid 40s. I know up north that doesn't sound so bad, but this is Miami and it should be hot, hot, hot. I guess I cannot complain too much because the weather here is much better than if I would have been placed in New York City this time of year, as I expected.

Miami Beach is facing the east; therefore, it would make more sense for me to get a sunrise picture. However, I think we both know that isn't going to happen Mom!!! I will try to get a few more sunset pictures for you though and if I time it correctly, I might get a few good picture of the water at dusk.
