Our flight left Spokane for New York City at 5:30am. I didn't sleep much the night before leaving, but that just meant that I slept on the flights. We were in New York by 3pm and were in the hotel before 4pm. I wasn't sure how much energy Mom and Dad would have when we arrived, but they were ready to go and do some sightseeing!
We headed to Times Square. Dad had never been to New York, so I was excited to take him there. It is something to see! When we got there it was still daylight, so it wasn't as impressive. We headed to dinner straight away at the Heartland Brewery. I went to the Union Square location many times when I lived in New York, but I had never been to the Times Square location. The food was great and my drink was super strong, but that might have been because I had only eaten a fruit cup and had a yogurt. Below is a picture of Mom and I at dinner:
After dinner, we headed to St. Pat's Cathedral. It is one of my favorite places in New York and Mom remembers going their as a child. I will never get over how beautiful it is. here are a few pictures of it.
Finally, we made it back to Times Square. It is so awesome at night because the lights are so bright it looks like daytime. There really isn't much down there to do other than looking at the lights, but it is something you must do in New York City!
